Atlanta (September 19, 1995) - IQ Software (NASDAQ: IQSW), a leading supplier of client/server data access tools, today announced its participation in Oracle's Warehouse Technology Initiative, enabling IQ Software to develop interoperable and flexible data access solutions for the Oracle 7 database. As a result of this agreement, IQ Software has also made a commitment to support Oracle's newly announced On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) technology Applications Programming Interface (API) for the Oracle Express Server. IQ Software and Oracle also will work together closely on several marketing and sales programs.

Under the program, IQ Software's recently released IQ/Objects product suite, including its new IQ SmartServer, which implements three-tier architecture for data access, will be integrated with Oracle's data warehousing offerings. Through adoption of the Oracle OLAP API, IQ/Objects products will leverage Oracle Express Server, a multidimensional data modeling and analysis engine optimized for decision support and data warehousing; this provides scalability as well as easy access to data for users with varied needs and diverse skill sets. IQ Software and Oracle also will participate in joint marketing and sales activities, including sales force training and seminars.
IQ Software announced availability of the IQ/Objects family of data access solutions on September 12. IQ SmartServer, released in July of this year, utilizes an advanced three- tier architecture to partition various data access and reporting functions between clients and servers, which is critical to deploy and manage medium- to large-scale installations.
